Fingal Head

Fingal Head is a special place. I was there last week, and was re-introduced to the place by the local Aboriginal knowledge holders. It’s one thing just to visit and admire the beauty, but it’s another thing to connect to the story of the place from those who know and share it. My mate told me the local Bundjalung word for “the time before sunrise”. No wonder there’s a word for it, it’s stunning. I think humans are hard-wired for this time in the day to do something deep in our soul.
You have to spend time in a place to get to know it, work out it’s rhythms and light, so these images are from 2015 and 2016, and are mostly made from within about 300m of beach. Enjoy!
